🇹🇭🇻🇳 Prime Minister Welcomes Vietnamese Leader and Discusses Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Celebration of 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations

📌 Today (28 May 2026), at Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul officially welcomed Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, together with Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, during their official visit to Thailand as guests of the Royal Thai Government at the invitation of the Prime Minister on 27–28 May 2026.

The welcoming ceremony included an inspection of the guard of honor, a joint photo session, paying respects before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, signing the guestbook, and viewing commemorative gifts.

🔸 Following the ceremony, the Prime Minister and the Vietnamese leader held a plenary meeting focusing on advancing the Thailand–Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and covering cooperation in security, economy, and trade.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening economic integration between the two countries through the “Three Connects” strategy, namely:

🔸 Supply chains

🔸 Local economies

🔸 Green strategies

The discussions also featured cooperation in science, technology, innovation, and people-to-people relations. Both sides also witnessed the exchange of four memoranda of understanding and cooperation documents.

🤝 The two leaders jointly presided over the launch ceremony of the official logo commemorating the 50th anniversary of Thailand–Vietnam diplomatic relations, before delivering a joint press statement at Santi Maitri Building (Inner Wing).

🔸 Afterwards, the General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of Vietnam proceeded to the Parliament Building to pay a courtesy call on House Speaker Sophon Saram.

📌 This official visit marks an important opportunity to further strengthen Thailand–Vietnam relations and cooperation in all dimensions, while reaffirming the shared commitment of both countries to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region for the sustainable benefit of their peoples.
