The durian season in Chumphon province has officially begun, marked by the ceremonial first durian pick attended by the Governor of Chumphon and the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Songkhla, both endorsing the fruit’s top-tier quality and readiness for global markets.
Chumphon durians are renowned for their quality, characterized by their unique sweet and creamy flavor, smooth texture, and fragrant aroma — all highly sought after, especially in China, the largest trading partner.
This year, the harvest is projected to reach 302,000 tons of premium durians, expected to generate over 30 billion baht in income for farmers and the province.
This reaffirms Chumphon’s position as a key durian-producing region in Thailand, ready to deliver the “King of Fruits” in its finest quality straight from the orchards to consumers worldwide.
