Introducing Navamindradhiraj: Thailand’s Newest Air Force Academy Officially Opened by King Rama X

Navamindradhiraj Air Force Academy is Thailand’s newly established military aviation institution, located in Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province. The academy was developed as part of a plan to relocate the original Air Force Academy from Don Mueang, with the goal of modernizing education and aligning with international standards. The design and curriculum are modeled after the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado, ensuring world-class facilities, environment, and academic programs.

The name “Navamindradhiraj” was bestowed by King Rama IX in 2013,

marking the 60th anniversary of the Air Force Academy. It translates to “The new Air Force Academy, honoring the great King,” reflecting its significance as a tribute to Thailand’s revered monarch.

On February 22, 2025, His Majesty King Rama X and Her Majesty the Queen presided over the official opening of the Navamindradhiraj Air Force Academy.

The ceremony also included the unveiling of a statue of King Rama IX and the planting of a Yellow Star tree as a symbol of prosperity. King Rama X has a deep personal connection to the academy, having once been enrolled as “Cadet No. 752” and serving as “Honorary Head Cadet” in 2011. His involvement has laid a strong foundation for the future of the Royal Thai Air Force, demonstrating his enduring commitment as Commander-in-Chief.

The academy is dedicated to producing highly skilled commissioned officers for the Royal Thai Air Force, instilling values of integrity, loyalty, and patriotism.

It serves as a cornerstone for strengthening Thailand’s national defense and inspires the next generation to serve and protect their nation with unwavering dedication.
