Wat Phra Mahathat Proudly Named Thailand's 9th UNESCO World Heritage Site

At the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee in Busan, South Korea, UNESCO officially inscribed Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan in Nakhon Si Thammarat as a cultural World Heritage Site, making it Thailand's 9th World Heritage listing and the very first in the South.

The announcement has filled Thai people nationwide with immense pride, honoring centuries of history, faith, and craftsmanship embodied in this sacred site.

Beyond the celebration, this milestone carries a deeper responsibility: to protect and preserve this treasured heritage, ensuring it continues to inspire and endure for generations to come.
