The Public Allowed to Pay Final Respects to the Remains of the Queen Mother

Members of the public will be allowed to pay their final respects to the remains of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall within the Grand Palace, from 9 November 2025 onwards.

According to the Bureau of the Royal Household, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua has granted permission for the public to pay their respects to the late Queen Mother after His Majesty has performed the royal merit-making ceremony for the Queen Mother at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall for 15 consecutive days.

The public will be allowed to enter Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall from 09.00 hr to 21.00 hr, starting from Sunday, 9 November.

His Majesty the King has also granted permission for members of the public to pay their respects to the late Queen Mother in front of her portrait at the Sala Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace from Monday, 27 October, between 08.30 hr and 16.00 hr. Books of condolence will also be provided for them to sign.

In addition, His Majesty has allowed the royal lineage, the Privy Council, the Cabinet, various organizations, government agencies, state enterprises, the private sector, and the general public to jointly host funeral rites in memory of the Queen Mother, following the completion of the 100-day royal merit-making ceremony.

On Sunday, 26 October, starting at about 16.00 hr, a motorcade carrying the coffin of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother departed from King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital to Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall. 

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen, together with other members of the Royal Family, traveled in the royal motorcade following the vehicle carrying the Queen Mother’s body. Black-clad crowds of people, many of them with tears in their eyes, gathered along the procession route to express their loyalty and respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the beloved Queen Mother.

On the same day, thousands of mourners gathered at the Sala Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion to offer water for the bathing ceremony of Her Majesty The Queen Mother. The event took place from 08.30 hr to 12.00 hr.
