The Princess Royal meets with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at Government House

Thai PM Welcomes Princess Anne and Discusses Thailand–UK Cooperation in Education, Women's Empowerment, and Health Security

Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anutin Charnvirakul on 16 July 2026 at 3.30 p.m. welcomed Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence at Government House during their official visit to Thailand from 15 to 18 July 2026.

They held discussions focusing on Thailand–United Kingdom relations, youth development, and promoting women's roles in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Princess Anne emphasized that encouraging more women to pursue STEM careers requires support from both families and teachers. The Prime Minister highlighted that education, critical thinking, and analytical skills are essential foundations for effective problem-solving and national development.

Both sides also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation in public health, medical research, and international collaboration to better tackle global health challenges. The Prime Minister praised the United Kingdom's strengths in medicine and scientific research and expressed confidence that the two countries would further deepen their cooperation in these areas in the years ahead.
