The 2nd Army Area Operations Center, Situation Summary along the Thai–Cambodian Border, 8 December 2025 (13.00 hours)

Overall Situation Around 06.00 to 10.35 hours on 8 December 2025, Cambodian forces launched continuous attacks against Thai positions using rifles, grenade launchers, artillery, recoilless rifles, BM-21 multiple rocket launchers, and drones dropping explosives on our bases and defensive positions across multiple fronts. 

Some rounds landed near civilian areas around Chong An-ma, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, and Ban Sai Tho 10, Ban Kruat District, Buri Ram Province. Thai forces responded according to operational plans and successfully destroyed several key enemy targets, such as the gondola position behind the Hill 350 and a Cambodian anti-drone tower at Huai Ta Maria. Clashes were intense and widespread across multiple areas, including Chong An-ma, Chong Bok, Chong Krang, Chong Sai Ta Ku, Chong Chom, Chong Kana, Chong Plod Tang, Ta Muen area, Ta Kwai area, Preah Vihear – Phu Makheua area, Phlan Hin Paet Kon area, Sam Tae area, and around Thai forward outposts. These engagements resulted in multiple injuries among our troops and one fatality.

Overall, Cambodian forces have escalated their firepower and employed new technologies in their attacks. However, Thai forces continue to maintain control of key terrain, carry out planned counter-operations, and inflict significant damage on the adversary’s capabilities.

Civilian Evacuation

In the four border provinces, 325 temporary shelters have been opened. A total of 51,147 civilians have been evacuated to these shelters, including 391 vulnerable persons, broken down as follows:

• Ubon Ratchathani Province: 114

• Si Sa Ket Province: 77

• Buri Ram Province: 200
