The Thai government has hailed the success of “Team Thailand” at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival , where Thai film and creative industry representatives generated more than 1.08 billion baht (over US$30 million) in projected business value.

According to the Deputy Government Spokesperson, Thailand’s participation in the festival and film market from May 12–20, 2026 resulted in 296 business negotiation appointments with international buyers, investors, and industry partners.

The outcomes reflected growing global confidence in Thailand’s film, series, animation, and related creative service industries. The total projected business value reached approximately 1.082 billion baht, including 27.89 million baht in immediate deals, 202.06 million baht in projected agreements within one year, and 852.23 million baht expected over the next two to five years.

Key business partners included companies and investors from United States, Japan, United Kingdom, South Korea, India, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Russia.

Officials noted that Cannes remains one of the world’s most influential film markets for licensing, co-production, investment, and international networking. This year’s event attracted more than 16,000 industry participants from over 140 countries, alongside over 40,000 festival attendees overall.

The government said the strong results demonstrate the competitiveness of Thai creative businesses in terms of quality, creativity, and production standards.
