Education Minister Prof. Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat met with Mr. Yu Yunfeng, Director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), in Beijing during the 2025 Global Chinese Language Conference. Thailand outlined policies to modernize Chinese language education and strengthen Thai–Chinese ties, while requesting scholarships and expert support from China to enhance Thai teachers’ skills and expand the development of vocational students with Chinese language proficiency.
Thailand also sought technological support to upgrade digital Chinese language learning under the Department of Learning Promotion. China responded with proposals to expand cooperation, including improving curricula to meet international standards, enhancing HSK testing systems, exchanging teachers and experts, and jointly developing comprehensive online learning platforms.
The Minister emphasized the importance of Chinese language skills for employment in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and proposed increasing volunteer Chinese teachers and establishing more Confucius Classrooms nationwide. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing long-term educational cooperation to provide high-quality learning opportunities and meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
