Thailand Enhances Air Traffic Management Readiness for New Year Travel Surge

Aeronautical Radio of Thailand has enhanced its air traffic management readiness to accommodate increased flight volumes during the New Year holiday period. Between December 29, 2025, and January 7, 2026, total flights are projected at 27,632, averaging about 2,763 flights per day. Preparations have been aligned with national transport safety and facilitation plans to ensure passenger
confidence and smooth travel during the festive season.

Comprehensive measures have been implemented to manage air traffic flow in coordination with domestic and international aviation agencies. These include proactive air traffic flow management to ensure safety, efficiency, and reduced delays, as well as timely provision of air traffic and operational information to service users upon request. Staffing plans for air traffic controllers and engineers
have been strengthened to support 24-hour operations, with daily monitoring and reporting of flight volumes and operational performance.

Based on the Winter Schedule, total flights are expected to reach 84,543 in December 2025 and 87,835 in January 2026. For fiscal year 2026, total flight movements are forecast at 928,165, comprising international, domestic, and overflight operations, with an average of 2,543 flights per day. This represents an increase of approximately 3 percent compared with the previous year, reflecting
continued growth in air traffic demand.
