Thailand Accelerates Tourism Recovery with “Restoring Trust & Quick Win” Measures

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, together with senior officials and private-sector partners, has proposed urgent policy measures to the government to strengthen Thailand’s tourism industry and prepare for economic growth in 2026. The initiative aims to position Thailand as a high-quality, value-for-money, and friendly destination, enhancing the country’s competitiveness in the global tourism market.

Two key measures are being advanced. The first, Restoring Trust, focuses on safety and confidence-building by establishing systematic cooperation with law enforcement and relevant agencies, combating misinformation, implementing standardized travel advisory notes, and strictly monitoring illegal operators and tour guides. The second, Reviving Market Momentum / Quick Win, seeks to stimulate the market and reduce costs for tourism businesses through domestic and international promotional campaigns, collaborative packages with the private sector, low-interest loans, and supportive tax measures to help operators recover sustainably.

The government has expressed full support for these initiatives, emphasizing the importance of raising service, product, and safety standards to meet international benchmarks. These efforts aim to ensure Thailand remains a leading global tourism destination while fostering sustainable growth.
