His remarks follow announcements by several countries advising citizens to stock food for at least 72 hours in preparation for possible contingencies. The Prime Minister confirmed that Thailand has ample agricultural produce and raw materials to meet the country's needs.
⚠️ For Thai nationals abroad:
Thai embassies have been instructed to look after Thai communities in the countries concerned and to keep them informed.
⚠️ On energy:
The government is closely monitoring regional developments and their potential impact on energy prices. Appropriate measures are in place, and alternative energy sources are being prepared as a precaution.
⚠️ Protecting Thai nationals:
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and has prepared measures to care for and alert Thai nationals in higher-risk areas. In coordination with the Royal Thai Armed Forces, evacuation plans have been reviewed and are ready to be activated promptly should the situation escalate.
