Thai Government strengthens business partnerships between Thailand and Vietnam

Vietnam Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul attended the Thailand–Vietnam Investment and Business Networking 2026 meeting organized by BOI (The Board of Investment of Thailand) during his first official visit in Hanoi (ฮานอย), Vietnam. Participants included representatives from the private and public sectors of Thailand and Vietnam. The purpose of this meeting was to offer a platform for both countries to discuss business opportunities and challenges for Thai enterprises in Vietnam. 

On this occasion, Thailand and Vietnam planned to advance the "Three Connects" initiative cooperating on three aspects—1) supply chain, 2) local economic via tourism and culture, as well as 3) green economy and energy, to build upon sustainable growth together. The Prime Minister also highlighted the concept of “Growing Together,” noting Vietnam’s key role in global manufacturing supply chains and Thailand’s strengths in industry, services, logistics, and regional connectivity. He stated that both countries can serve as strategic partners in advancing ASEAN’s economic growth.

In addition, the Thai government affirmed its readiness to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in five main areas: clean energy, digital and semiconductors, food security, tourism, and industrial estate development. Officials stated that the Thai government will continue to support Thai private sectors by improving regulations and expanding buniess environment. Thai government also planned to link international payment systems to facilitate trade and investment, emphasizing its goal to push the trade value between the two nations to reach 30 billion USD in the future.
