Tak Bat Dok Mai (Floral Offering Merit-Making)

This is a beautiful ceremony where devotees offer dok khao phansa (Buddhist Lent flowers) to monks as they begin the three-month rains retreat. 🌿💐
Tak Bat Dok Mai dates back hundreds of years in Phra Phutthabat, Saraburi. According to local tradition, villagers would climb the surrounding hills to gather the rare dok khao phansa flowers, which bloom only during the Buddhist Lent season.

They then offered these flowers to monks as they began their three-month rains retreat, instead of the usual food offerings.
