Royal Barge Exhibition Opens at ICONSIAM

The Royal Thai Navy and ICONSIAM are presenting the Colors and Reflections of Thai Art: The Royal Barge Procession exhibition at ICONLUXE, M Floor, ICONSIAM, from September 28 to November 8. The exhibition explores the history, artistry, and ceremonial traditions of the Royal Barge Procession ahead of the Royal Kathin ceremony in November.

Visitors can view models of all 52 vessels in the ceremonial fleet, with information on their functions, craftsmanship, and history. The display also features a 15-meter replica of the Suphannahong Royal Barge, along with multimedia presentations offering a closer look at the procession and its cultural heritage.

The exhibition presents the four principal royal barges that will serve in the upcoming ceremony. Suphannahong will carry Their Majesties the King and Queen, while Anantanakkharat will carry the Royal Kathin robes. Anekkachatphutchong will serve as a secondary vessel for members of the royal family, while Narai Song Suban King Rama IX will serve as the reserve vessel for Their Majesties.

The Royal Kathin Ceremony and Royal Barge Procession will take place at Wat Arun Ratchawararam on November 6 in honor of Her Majesty the Queen’s Fourth Cycle Birthday Anniversary. Admission to the exhibition is free through November 8.
