Provincial Network Synergy to Be Focused Upon in PR Plan for 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings

Director-General of the Government Public Relations Department (PRD) Sudruetai Lertkasem on 8 July 2026 attended a preparatory meeting for Thailand’s hosting of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) this October. The preparatory meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas.

It followed up on progress of the preparations for the upcoming IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings, with an emphasis on driving a communication strategy to promote public participation through three key ideas: Excitement, Sense of Pride, and Feel of Joy.

The PRD Director-General proposed a communication approach by using provincial government network to enhance communication coverage and ensure access across the nation. She also emphasized that the key message of the communication strategy is to create a better understanding among Thai people of how the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings relate to and benefit them. 

The meeting also approved the proactive communication plan, which will officially begin rolling out on 14 July 2026 onward.
