Prime Minister’s Office Opens NEV Plant in Rayong to Advance Thailand’s EV Hub Vision

Thailand is advancing its role as a leading hub for next-generation mobility in ASEAN with the launch of a new energy vehicle manufacturing plant by Chery Group and OMODA & JAECOO. The investment reflects growing global confidence in Thailand’s industrial strength, infrastructure, and skilled workforce, reinforcing its position as a preferred destination for high-tech automotive production in the region.

The project supports Thailand’s transition toward a green economy, in line with national efforts to promote clean energy and sustainable industries. The new facility is expected to create jobs, enhance technical expertise, and encourage knowledge transfer in advanced automotive technologies. It also demonstrates how international partnerships are helping to elevate Thailand’s capabilities in innovation-driven sectors while strengthening long-term economic resilience.

With a planned annual production capacity of 80,000 vehicles, the plant will serve both domestic consumers and export markets across ASEAN. It is set to play a key role in expanding Thailand’s electric vehicle ecosystem, supporting supply chains from component manufacturing to final assembly and export. This milestone underscores Thailand’s vision to lead in sustainable mobility, positioning the country as a dynamic center for innovation, clean energy, and future-focused investment.
