Press Release on the Thailand-Cambodia Border Situation

1. Following the Special Meeting on the Thai-Cambodian border situation held on 28 July 2025 in Malaysia, the Thai side has remained committed to strictly upholding the ceasefire agreement.

2. Upon observing violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Cambodian side, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken this matter seriously and communicated it through various channels, including through the Royal Thai Embassies worldwide, to inform the international community of Cambodia’s actions. Furthermore, a site visit to the Thai-Cambodian border area for military attachés of foreign missions and members of the media is being organized tomorrow (1 August 2025) in order for them to observe and assess the impacts of the clashes on the ground.

3. This above-mentioned site visit also presents an important opportunity to obtain clear evidence of violations of the ceasefire agreement, inhumane attacks against civilian targets, and infringements upon Thailand’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by Cambodia – actions that no country can tolerate.

4. Moreover, Thailand expresses profound disappointment regarding Cambodia’s baseless accusations against Thailand in international fora concerning the clashes along the border, particularly during the high-level meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) currently taking place in Geneva and condemns this irresponsible behavior. Thailand categorically rejects such claims and calls on Cambodia to refrain from disseminating disinformation and misinformation that could cause misunderstanding and further escalate tensions. Thailand reaffirms once again its steadfast commitment to the United Nations Charter, humanitarian principles, the protection of civilian lives, and strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement.
