Phuket to Host Global Wellness Summit 2026 in Bid to Elevate Thailand’s Premium Wellness Image

Thailand is set to strengthen its position in the global wellness market as Phuket prepares to host the 20th Global Wellness Summit from November 10–13, 2026. The event, to be held at Angsana Laguna Phuket under the theme “The Symphony of Wellness,” is expected to attract more than 600 delegates from over 30 countries.

Industry leaders view the summit as a key opportunity to reposition Thailand from a low-cost spa destination to a premium wellness hub. The Thai Spa Association noted that the event could help highlight Thailand’s capability to deliver high-end wellness services comparable to established traditions such as Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, while expanding the country’s international reputation.

The summit’s 20th anniversary is also expected to enhance branding for both Thailand and Phuket, drawing a high-value global audience and supporting wellness tourism growth. Organisers said early registration is already open, with delegates from across the global wellness sector expected to participate.

However, industry representatives stressed that policy support remains essential for long-term development. Key challenges include the absence of dedicated legislation for medical spas and the need for improved infrastructure to support premium wellness services. Stakeholders said stronger regulatory frameworks and investment in large-scale wellness facilities would help Thailand compete more effectively in the high-end global wellness market.
