NIA joins hands with Thai HealthTech Association to drive Thailand’s healthcare innovation through the Thailand Innovation Hub: HealthTech / MedTech Sandbox & Incubation Program 2025

The National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) or NIA, under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, in collaboration with the Thai HealthTech Association (THTA) and its network of Medical Innovation Districts — including Yothi (Bangkok), Suandok (Chiang Mai), Kangsadan (Khon Kaen), and Siriraj, together with the Ministry of Public Health — has launched the Thailand Innovation Hub: HealthTech / MedTech Sandbox & Incubation Program 2025.

The program gathers 26 Thai health startups to advance the country’s healthcare system towards a Smart Health System, leveraging medical artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology to enhance efficiency, reduce the workload of healthcare professionals, and improve public access to medical services.

This initiative marks a strategic public–private collaboration to strengthen Thailand’s HealthTech ecosystem, supporting innovation from incubation to real-world testing (Sandbox). It aims to enhance the competitiveness of Thai startups, expand international collaboration, and apply medical AI technologies within hospitals and healthcare units nationwide.

Mr. Yodsak Raksakaew, Advisor to the Minister of Public Health, delivered a keynote speech on “Promoting Thai HealthTech Startups,” emphasizing the government’s policy framework under the concept “Doctors without fatigue, citizens without delay — connecting all services through technology.” The policy focuses on integrating AI and digital innovation to improve accuracy, reduce repetitive workloads, and ensure faster, more efficient, and accessible healthcare for all.

Dr. Amphol Arpathanakorn, Director of Innovation Business Promotion Department at NIA, highlighted the agency’s role in developing a comprehensive HealthTech ecosystem — from incubation to field testing — to ensure sustainable growth of Thai health innovations both domestically and globally.

The Thailand Innovation Hub: HealthTech / MedTech Program also invites public and private organizations, hospitals, universities, and investors nationwide to participate as pilot sites or partners in scaling up tested innovations.
