Future GBC Talks to Focus on Landmines, Transnational Crime

The next Thailand-Cambodia General Border Committee (GBC) meeting will focus on cooperation in landmine clearance and combating transnational crime, according to Rear Admiral Surasant Kongsiri. He stated that the agenda will include joint landmine clearance operations in recent clash areas, involving officials from both nations, as well as collaboration on tackling transnational crimes, with a particular emphasis on online scams.

Citing a speech from Acting Defense Minister General Nattaphon Narkphanit after the GBC's extraordinary session this afternoon, Rear Admiral Surasant underscored that tangible results can only be achieved with sincerity from both sides. He added that Thailand remains sincere in its actions, which are based on the principle of good neighborliness, and expressed hope that Cambodia would do the same in order to achieve sustainable peace.
