Foreign Dignitaries Pay Respects to the Late Queen Mother

Foreign dignitaries have visited Thailand to pay their respects in person before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, the beloved “Mother of the Thai nation," who passed away on 24 October 2025.

Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Minister and former Prime Minister of Singapore, arrived in Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall within the Grand Palace at 15.30 hr on 3 November. He laid a wreath in front of the royal urn of the Queen Mother, and then signed a book of condolence at the Royal Office 904 Building in the Grand Palace.

The Singapore Senior Minister was accompanied by his wife Ho Ching and officials from the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the same day, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Michael George DeSombre, accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Robert F. Godec, paid respects before the royal urn of Her Majesty the Queen Mother in Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall and also signed a book of condolence at the Royal Office 904 Building.

Previously, on 29 October, His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Her Majesty Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck of the Kingdom of Bhutan, were the first foreign dignitaries who came to pay their respects in person in Thailand.
