ENTEC Promotes H-FAME as Low-Carbon Fuel for Thailand’s Industry

Thailand’s National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), has introduced H-FAME premium biodiesel as a practical low-carbon fuel alternative for the country’s transport and industrial sectors. The agency said the fuel can be used immediately in existing diesel engines without major modifications, making it an effective transition energy source while cleaner technologies continue to develop.

Researchers explained that H-FAME offers higher oxidation stability and better fuel quality than conventional biodiesel. Field tests showed performance comparable to commercial diesel blends, while particulate matter emissions were lower. The fuel also helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 50 percent, supporting Thailand’s environmental goals and long-term carbon neutrality targets.

ENTEC stated that the technology is ready for transfer to private companies and industrial users interested in adopting cleaner fuel solutions. With growing pressure from global carbon regulations such as the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), H-FAME is expected to strengthen Thailand’s industrial competitiveness while promoting sustainable energy development.
