The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Swedish partners to enhance cooperation in clean energy development, reinforcing Thailand’s transition toward a low-carbon future. The agreement highlights joint efforts in advancing renewable energy technologies, innovation, and sustainable power solutions aligned with global climate targets.
Under the partnership, both sides will focus on knowledge exchange and technological collaboration in key areas such as biomass energy, hydrogen systems, and energy storage. The initiative is also expected to support smart grid development and digital energy solutions, enabling more efficient and resilient power systems. This collaboration reflects Thailand’s broader strategy to modernize its energy infrastructure while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
EGAT emphasized that the cooperation marks a significant step toward achieving carbon neutrality and long-term net zero emissions goals. By leveraging Sweden’s expertise in clean energy innovation, Thailand aims to accelerate its energy transition while strengthening international partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic growth and environmental stewardship.
