Chiang Mai Design Week 2025: “Local Plus” Sparks Global Creative Collaboration

Chiang Mai Design Week 2025 returns for its 11th edition this December under the theme “Local Plus: Creativity, Technology, Sustainability.” The festival brings together designers, artists, entrepreneurs, and creative communities from northern Thailand and over 12 countries — from Asia to Europe — to foster sustainable growth and global collaboration.

Using the concept of the “Equation of Creativity,” the event symbolizes partnership, knowledge-sharing, and innovation, while promoting environmental responsibility and limitless creative potential for Chiang Mai as a UNESCO Creative City.

Highlights include “Make Scents, Make Sense” — an exhibition inspired by Thai biodiversity, “The Homecoming Club,” and the collaboration CMDW x Mango Art Festival. Music and performance art take center stage at Chiang Mai HO Zix (เชียงใหม่ โฮะ ซิกซ์) and LABBfest.2025, while educational programmes like Kids’ Creative Power and RILA champion sustainable design and materials.

Running from December 6–14 across Klang Wiang (กลางเวียง), Chang Moi–Tha Phae (ช้างม่อย - ท่าแพ), and San Pa Koi (สันป่าข่อย), the festival continues to position Chiang Mai as a hub of innovation under the vision “Crafting Wellness from Local Essence, Inspiring Asia.”
