BMA and Yiyang City strengthen cooperation in Trade, Green Spaces, and Urban Tourism

Dr. Lertluck Leelaruangsang, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), welcomed a high-level Chinese delegation led by Ms. Dai Zha,Vice Chairperson of the Yiyang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of Yiyang City Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The bilateral discussions centered on three primary pillars of mutual benefit: investment promotion, environmental development, and tourism exchange. Both sides also highlighted on deepening mutual understanding and building concrete frameworks for urban cooperation. 

Dr. Lertluck emphasized that as a leading regional hub for economics and culture, Bangkok is fully prepared to facilitate international investments that directly improve the quality of life for its residents. In the environmental sphere, she shared Bangkok’s successful experience with its signature “15-Minute Park” policy, which has successfully established 461 accessible green spaces across the capital to promote public well-being. Furthermore, both leaders recognized the booming tourism market between Thailand and China, identifying it as a golden opportunity to expand cultural exchanges and boost local economies through targeted travel initiatives.

The meeting concluded with a shared optimism for future collaborative projects between the two cities. Dr. Lertluck expressed her firm belief that the dialogue would serve as a powerful catalyst for exchanging best practices and opening up practical avenues of cooperation. By aligning Yiyang City’s industrial strengths with Bangkok’s open investment environment and sustainable urban policies, both cities can establish a more resilient and mutually prosperous international partnership.
