Beyond DNA: National Omics Center Opens a New Frontier for Thai Science From Genomics to Metabolomics

Thailand leaps forward with the launch of its first-ever National Omics Center under BIOTEC at NSTDA—the country’s most advanced omics infrastructure. The center drives comprehensive biotechnological innovation, spanning genomics (genetic code), transcriptomics (gene expression), proteomics (protein function), and metabolomics (cellular chemicals), propelling Thai science onto the global stage!

Using cutting-edge omics technologies, the National Omics Center delivers tangible applied results such as:
✅ Conserving coral bleaching through Thailand’s first genetic database
✅ Investigating wildlife trafficking by accurately identifying tigers via DNA fingerprinting, and
✅ Enhancing seed quality with the “HybridSure” test kit to certify purity before export

Offering full-service capabilities across industries, the center provides modern tools for government and private sectors, including:

  • Genetic sequencing
  • Protein and metabolite analysis
  • Droplet Digital PCR and FPLC technology

The National Omics Center goes beyond just DNA—it integrates four advanced technologies to address critical national challenges, from modern agriculture and public health to environmental restoration.
This innovation hub fuels a sustainable bioeconomy and partners with all sectors to move forward together!
