Artthakorn Kicks Off Torch Relay for 2025 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games

Tourism and Sports Minister Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn presided over the ceremonial lighting and handover of the “flame of victory” to launch the 2025 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games Torch Relay at the Indoor Stadium Huamark. He expressed gratitude for His Majesty the King’s gracious bestowal of the flame, noting its symbolism of purity in sports and its role in promoting Thailand’s sporting development.

The Torch Relay began simultaneously in all four host provinces—Bangkok, Chonburi, Songkhla, and Nakhon Ratchasima. In Bangkok, Governor Chadchart Sittipunt served as the principal torchbearer, leading a group of 73 participants including distinguished figures and athletes. The relay proceeded along the planned route and concluded successfully at 20:00 hrs.

Thailand will host the 33rd SEA Games from December 9–20, 2025, across Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla, with the opening ceremony at Rajamangala National Stadium. The 13th ASEAN Para Games will follow from January 20–26, 2026, in Nakhon Ratchasima, highlighting Thailand’s commitment to regional sporting excellence.
