Archbishop of Bangkok Shares New Year 2026 Blessings

The Most Reverend Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana, Archbishop of Bangkok, has delivered a New Year message for Buddhist Era 2569, or 2026, offering blessings and encouragement to the Thai people as the country enters the new year.

He described the past year as a time of sorrow, challenge, and change, recalling the nationwide mourning following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. He spoke of her compassion and lifelong dedication to the people, saying her legacy continues to unite the nation.

The archbishop also addressed the hardship faced by communities in southern Thailand due to severe flooding, saying the experience reaffirmed the importance of generosity, compassion, and mutual support during times of crisis.

In the context of global instability and conflict, he spoke of peace as a shared human value rooted in love, understanding, cooperation, and mutual respect. He said unity, reconciliation, and shared responsibility remain essential for Thai society to move forward with strength and hope.

The message concluded with prayers for peace, wisdom, courage, good health, and enduring hope for Thai families throughout the year ahead. He also conveyed his blessings to His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, and the Royal Family, and wished 2026 a year of warmth, strength, and peace for the nation.
