Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has urged all sectors to join forces in the campaign “United Thailand Against Scammers” to seriously wipe out scammers and cyber fraud networks from Thai society.
At a press conference on the United Thailand Against Scammers campaign, held at the Royal Thai Police Training and Welfare Center in Bangkok on 10 November 2025, the Prime Minister cited technology crime as a significant threat causing huge damage to the people at all levels.
He said that the Government had declared crackdown on scammers as part of the national agenda. In order to intensify measures against cybercrime and transnational scam networks, the Government had set up the National Committee on the Prevention and Suppression of Technology Crime, chaired by the Prime Minister.
In an effort to promote unified operations against cybercrime, 15 agencies recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for their cooperation in combating cyber scams by closing loopholes and cutting off financial routes for cyber fraud networks.
The Prime Minister stated that the Government had changed its defensive strategies to offensive strategies in order to combat cyber fraud more effectively, and that the Royal Thai Police had made much progress in handling this issue. For instance, the police had already seized tens of billions of baht in assets from cybercrime networks, revoked their visas, and deported foreign criminals. Moreover, many mule accounts linked to scams have been cancelled.
The Prime Minister instructed all relevant agencies to work actively in eradicating cyber scams. He also called on those who have information about the involvement of state officials or politicians in cybercrime to send the information to relevant agencies or to him directly.
In this regard, the Prime Minister said that the Government would provide full protection for the whistleblowers. He stressed the need to keep the public informed and to equip them with knowledge and better understanding in order to protect themselves from cybercrime, while the public must also remain alert on this issue.
The Prime Minister thanked members of the media for their dissemination of new and information about technology crime and for providing cyber fraud literacy for the public.
