The Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) has carried out a project to study the direction of enhancing the development of community enterprises under the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy model for the fiscal year 2023. The TPSO team visited the field and gathered information from four regions and conducted in-depth interviews with 20 community enterprise groups.
Subsequently, two community enterprises were selected as prototypes: the "Sabaijai Community Enterprise" in Samut Songkhram province, a model for the production sector, and the "Laem Sak Community Tourism Enterprise" in Krabi province, a model for the service sector.
The TPSO also invited experts from government agencies, private sectors, and educational institutions to provide knowledge, conduct practical training, and share experiences in various areas with these two community enterprises. Topics include linking businesses to the BCG direction, developing products and services, and creating narratives. Successful community entrepreneurs operating under the BCG model were also invited to share their business experiences to serve as a guide for development and to inspire these prototype community enterprises. They can utilize the acquired knowledge to enhance their product and service production, thereby increasing income for the community and grassroots economy.
However, the TPSO will monitor the development progress of these prototype community enterprises and announce the project results in July 2023. They will then draw from the successful experiences, prepare suggestions, and disseminate these to other community enterprises as a guide for their future operations.
