Procedure for Obtaining a Work Permit for Foreigners Under ASEAN Free Skilled Labor Mobility according to MRAs Agreements

The process of obtaining a work permit for foreigners under ASEAN Free Skilled Labor Mobility, according to the MRAs agreement, is as follows:

  1. Submit an application with supporting documents and pay the application fee/ Officials check the correctness of the documents.
  2. Officials consider the application and documents / Send for verification / Propose to the registrar.
  3. The registrar considers / Signs the work permit or a letter of refusal to work.
  4. Pay the work permit fee / Receive the work permit.

Details of the fees for obtaining a work permit for foreigners under ASEAN Free Skilled Labor Mobility:

  • Application fee is 100 Baht per form.
  • Work permit fee:
    • Work permit valid for no more than 3 months is 750 Baht per permit.
    • Work permit valid for more than 3 months but not exceeding 6 months is 1,500 Baht per permit.
    • Work permit valid for more than 6 months but not exceeding 1 year is 3,000 Baht per permit.

     For a permit that is valid for more than 1 year, the fee increases according to the rates in items 1), 2), or 3).

  • Foreign Labor Management Office, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor Building, Mitmaitree Road, Din Daeng District, Bangkok. Open Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 08:30 - 16:30. Tel. +66 2248 7202.
  • Bangkok Area Employment Offices 1 - 10.
  • Employment Offices in all provinces.
