Statement by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on the Passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother

To All Thai Citizens

24 October 2025 is a day that all Thai people never wished would come. Because it is a day that brings profound sorrow and immeasurable loss to every Thai subject. We learned from the announcement of the Royal Household Bureau that Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother passed away peacefully at Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital at the age of 93.

At this moment, the sound of weeping echoes in the hearts of Thai people throughout the entire nation. The hearts of all subjects are shrouded in a veil of grief and sorrow that no words can adequately express, for Her Majesty was an eternal source of inspiration, love, and compassion.

 The passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother can be regarded as the loss of "the Great Mother of Thailand," whom all people loved and revered above all. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother was the beloved sovereign and object of veneration for all Thai people. Her Majesty was also the Royal Mother of our most revered King, serving as the pillar of strength for all Thai people of every group, befitting Her Majesty's royal prestige as the Queen Mother. Her immeasurable royal grace and benevolence knew no bounds.

Throughout the reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Her Majesty carried out numerous royal duties with wisdom and tireless dedication. Her Royal Projects in the areas of arts and crafts, natural resource conservation, and public health have all brought happiness and benefit to subjects of every group. Her Majesty was a Queen of the Kingdom of Thailand who was the pride of Thai subjects and was recognized and admired for her abilities by nations around the world.

In this regard, the Government will proceed with organizing a royal cremation ceremony befitting Her Majesty's honor, and invites all Thai citizens to join together in expressing condolences and paying tribute as a meritorious act to be dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. Let us also use the power of our love, unity, and loyalty as Thai people to offer moral support to His Majesty the King and all members of the Royal Family during this time of sorrow, united throughout the nation.

I, on behalf of the Government and all Thai subjects of every group, humbly acknowledge Her immeasurable royal grace and benevolence, and offer prayers that Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother may rest eternally in heaven, and that she may continue to bestow her royal grace upon the Kingdom of Thailand and all Thai people who are her subjects, granting them peace and happiness under the royal benevolence of the Chakri Dynasty, as has always been the case.

Finally, on behalf of all Thai subjects, may I offer auspicious blessings to His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, and all members of the Royal Family. May they have strength of spirit, remain as the beloved sovereigns protecting the people and the Kingdom of Thailand, and may they enjoy happiness and prosperity forever.
