On 2 February 2026, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, the Royal Thai Army, the Sports Authority of Thailand, the Ministry of Culture, the Public Relations Department, Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University, and the World Boxing Council Muay Thai (WBC), held a press conference announcing the “Amazing MuayThai Festival 2026.”
The event will take place under the theme “Ultimate Muay Thai Experience” from 4–7 February 2026 at Rajabhakti Park, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, aiming to promote Muay Thai as Thailand’s cultural heritage on the international stage, elevate it to global standards, and stimulate domestic and international tourism.
Mr. Natt Krootsoot, Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business at TAT, stated that the festival is part of the annual World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, organized to showcase the identity, discipline, and artistry of Muay Thai to global audiences. This year’s event focuses on sports and adventure tourism, positioning Muay Thai as a key tourism product.
Thailand currently has more than 5,000 Muay Thai camps and gyms nationwide, capable of welcoming international visitors. The government also supports Muay Thai tourism through the Non-Immigrant ED Muay Thai Visa, allowing foreign visitors to train at certified camps for up to 90 days. TAT expects more than 18,000 visitors during the event, generating approximately 214 million baht in economic circulation.
The festival will feature Muay Thai competitions, exhibitions on fighter traditions and rankings, demonstrations and training of the four traditional Muay Thai styles—Chaiya, Korat, Tha Sao, and Lopburi—as well as strength-testing activities such as banana tree kicking. Additional highlights include Thai handicraft demonstrations, traditional folk games related to Muay Thai, skill-based game booths, Muay Thai equipment markets, training courses, local food and product stalls, and live concerts by popular artists.
The main highlight on 6 February (National Muay Thai Day) will include a sacred ceremony honoring seven former Thai kings and King Suea, a master-led Wai Kru ceremony, a grand performance featuring over 1,500 performers, spectacular light and sound effects, and a large-scale fireworks display. The event also pays tribute to King Sanphet VIII (King Suea), the Father of Muay Thai, and honors Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother for her enduring contributions to the Thai people.
