Thailand Pushes Solar Rooftop Market New Rules Boost Clean Energy Growth

The world is changing... and Thailand is moving forward!

Recently, the Ministry of Industry issued the special Factory Ministerial Regulation (No. 3) B.E. 2567 (2024), which removes the previous limit on rooftop solar installations capped at 1,000 kW. Now, all sizes of rooftop solar installations no longer require factory permits!

Why is this exciting?

  • Easy installation anywhere: homes, commercial buildings, industrial factories
  • Cuts costs and time: no more complex factory licensing procedures
  • Supports national goals: Thailand aims for Zero Carbon Emissions and to become ASEAN’s clean energy hub

What else?

  • Small businesses gain full access to clean energy
  • Attracts foreign investment aligned with global clean energy trends
  • Builds on plans to unlock solar farms and floating solar projects with the Energy Ministry

Driving sustainable green growth for Thailand’s economy!
