Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has presided over the opening ceremony of the 43rd ASEAN Chiefs of Police Conference (ASEANAPOL), reaffirming Thailand’s active role in regional security cooperation. The event, held under the theme “Cooperate to Operate: Combating Scams, Countering Frauds, and Protecting People,” was attended by police chiefs from Thailand and those from ASEAN member states.
In his opening remarks, Anutin raised concern over the escalating threat of transnational crime, which continues to disrupt regional stability, erode economic confidence, and undermine public trust. He warned that criminal networks are operating with greater coordination across borders, targeting ASEAN with sophisticated scams and financial fraud schemes.
The Prime Minister urged stronger cooperation among ASEAN law enforcement agencies, stressing the need for joint efforts to safeguard communities and secure economic systems. He also highlighted the importance of coordinated action to respond to complex cross-border threats and to maintain a secure environment across the region.
In closing, Anutin expressed his confidence in ASEAN’s law enforcement agencies' dedication, calling on participants to advance regional efforts to combat transnational crime and build lasting safety and stability for ASEAN’s people.
