Organizers have unveiled the official medals for the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games, featuring a distinctive fusion of sport and Thai artistic motifs under the guiding theme “PLAY BY THE RULES.” The concept emphasizes the values of rules, discipline, fairness and sportsmanship.
Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), stated that the new medal designs are aesthetically refined, durable and befitting symbols of pride for the athletes. The design integrates a traditional Thai grid motif with framing lines inspired by sports arenas to reflect the host nation’s identity and to symbolize regional cooperation among ASEAN countries.
Key specifications and design features include:
- Durable materials** engineered to resist impact; surface finishes in gold, silver and nickel that are designed not to peel.
- Diameter: 8.5 cm; Thickness: 0.8 cm.
- Obverse: SEA Games 2025 emblem.
- Reverse: SEA Games Federation emblem and event inscription.
- Background motif: a Thai weave pattern symbolizing the interlacing bonds of friendship — the interwoven lines represent cooperation, unity and the continuity of the ASEAN sporting community, and convey the power of sport to connect people, culture and national pride.
Dr. Kongsak further noted that the ASEAN Para Games medals, to be awarded at the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima (20–26 January 2026), will follow the same overall design language; only the emblem and identifying marks on the medals will differ. He added that all medals have been manufactured to rigorous standards ensuring quality, durability and aesthetic excellence.
“I am confident these medals will stand as emblems of victory and will instill pride in every athlete,” Dr. Kongsak concluded.
