H.M. the King Expresses His Concern for Flood Victims in the South

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua has expressed his deep concern for people affected by the severe flooding in the South and has provided assistance for them.

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul on 25 November 2025 at 09.50 hr chaired a meeting at Government House to follow up on the flood situation in southern provinces. The Prime Minister also invited Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukvimol, His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary and Lord Chamberlain of the Bureau of the Royal Household, to attend the meeting, which was also conducted via video conferencing with Zoom.

At the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Satitpong conveyed His Majesty the King’s message expressing his concern and calling for mobilizing all forces to help the people. His Majesty has ordered the mobilization of civilian, military, and police resources, as well as urging all relevant government agencies to provide immediate assistance. In particular, boats must be deployed to help evacuate the affected people from hazard to safe areas.

Moreover, His Majesty also directed that food, drinking water, and essential supplies be delivered swiftly to the affected areas. The Royal Thai Army, the Royal Thai Navy, the Royal Thai Air Force, and the Ministry of Interior were told to step up efforts to take care of the people and ease their hardships.

Air Chief Marshal Satitpong stated that His Majesty also expressed his appreciation for volunteer groups across the country who have offered a helping hand, not only during this flood crisis in the South but also in all other previous situations. These volunteers have coordinated all sides in each locality to provide assistance effectively for affected communities.

The Prime Minister humbly expressed his gratitude to His Majesty, saying that the first priority of the Government is the safety of the people. Currently aircraft, helicopters, boats and jet skis have been sent to the affected areas to help the people, especially those in vulnerable groups, while various organizations have also provided the affected people with food, fuel, and necessary items.

He said that the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation had upgraded the flood crisis in southern Thailand to Level 4 because of the severe conditions, particularly in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. All flood-affected province in the South have also been declared disaster zones.
