Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Opens New Nan Red Cross Office

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has presided over the opening of the new Nan Provincial Red Cross Office Building, reaffirming royal support for humanitarian and public welfare efforts in Nan Province. Senior executives of the Thai Red Cross Society, led by Secretary General Tej Bunnag, and provincial Red Cross officials were also present at the ceremony.

During the event, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn received a briefing on its objectives and construction. She toured the facility, paid respects before the Bhaisajyaguru statue, viewed an exhibition on the development of the new office, and observed its operational areas. Her Royal Highness later signed a commemorative stone plaque and posed for an official photograph with Thai Red Cross Society executives.

The new building replaces the former Nan Provincial Red Cross office, which had been in use since 1961 and had deteriorated over time. The project received funding support from Kasikornbank Public Company Limited and was donated to the Nan Provincial Red Cross Chapter to strengthen its capacity to serve the public.

The Nan Provincial Red Cross Chapter provides disaster relief, blood services, and social welfare programs throughout the province. In 2025, it assisted more than 74,800 people affected by natural disasters, collected over 15,000 units of blood through mobile donation drives, and provided cataract screening and surgery for hundreds of underprivileged patients, supporting community health and well-being in Nan province.
