Prime Minister Anutin welcomes former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on his visit to pay respects to the late Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

The meeting reflects the warm friendship between Thailand and Singapore and paves the way for deeper cooperation in the digital and green economies.
Today (4 August 2025), Government Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat revealed that on 3 August 2025 at 4:20 p.m., Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House, on the occasion of Mr. Lee’s visit to pay respects to the late Queen Mother.

The Prime Minister hosted an afternoon tea at the Golden Dome Room in a cordial and warm atmosphere. Both leaders reminisced about their long-standing friendship since attending the APEC Summit in Bangkok (2022) and exchanged views on new potentials for future Thailand–Singapore cooperation, particularly in the digital economy, green economy, and emerging technologies driving Southeast Asia’s growth.

Mr. Siripong added that after the meeting, Mr. Lee Hsien Loong shared a message expressing his fond connection with Thailand, saying he was “glad to reconnect” with Prime Minister Anutin, and thanked Thailand for its warm hospitality extended to him and his wife. He also noted that “Thailand–Singapore ties remain strong, with great potential to deepen collaboration, especially in the digital and green economies.”

Mr. Siripong further noted that Prime Minister Anutin is scheduled for an official visit to Singapore on 7 November 2025, marking a key opportunity to elevate the Thailand–Singapore Strategic Partnership to new heights.
