Thailand Discusses Telecommunications Development and Supports Global Telecom AIoT Summit 2026

Ms. Nan Boonthida Somchai, (แนน บุณย์ธิดา สมชัย) Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DE), held discussions with representatives of the Telecommunications Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage (TCT) on strategies to strengthen and modernize Thailand’s telecommunications sector in line with the country’s digital transformation goals.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on advancing telecommunications infrastructure and enhancing the role of emerging technologies in driving economic growth and innovation. The discussions highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration between the government, industry stakeholders, and technology providers to ensure Thailand remains competitive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

On this occasion, representatives of the Telecommunications Association of Thailand invited the Deputy Minister to participate in the opening ceremony of the GLOBAL TELECOM AIoT SUMMIT 2026 and requested the Ministry to send representatives to join the event as speakers. The summit was organized under the theme “AI for ALL.” Aiming to showcase global technology trends and promote international knowledge exchange, particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), which are increasingly recognized as key drivers of the global economy. It will bring together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to share insights and explore the integration of AI and IoT technologies in developing intelligent systems and digital ecosystems.

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society views the event as an important platform for strengthening Thailand’s role as a regional hub for technological innovation, fostering international cooperation, and supporting the country’s transition toward a smarter, more connected digital future.
