TAT Launches Amazing Chiang Mai Green Guide Fest 2026

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and its partners launched the Amazing Chiang Mai Green Guide Fest 2026 on August 28 to position Chiang Mai as a global green destination and a model for sustainable tourism.

TAT Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business Nat Kruthasoot led the opening ceremony, joined by representatives from government, private sector, tourism operators, and local communities. He noted that the festival supports the Chiang Mai Prototype initiative, which integrates creative arts, culture, local wisdom, wellness, and sustainable tourism, while strengthening community and business engagement.

The festival features six zones that combine sustainability with local identity, including areas for sustainable tourism innovations, contemporary arts and crafts, and a gastronomy zone with over 35 local farm-to-table vendors. The event also offers business networking for green tourism operators, eco-friendly musical performances by leading Thai artists, and interactive green missions with passport stamp activities for visitors.

Organizers aim to limit the event's carbon footprint to 350 tons, a 50 percent reduction from previous years. As a Carbon Neutral Event, the festival enforces strict waste management, restricts plastic use, and offers free electric vehicle shuttles between the venue and local markets.

TAT expects at least 15,000 Thai and international visitors, over 20 million baht in on-site spending, and more than 100 million baht in tourism revenue for Chiang Mai province.

The Amazing Chiang Mai Green Guide Fest 2026 takes place from August 28 to 30 at Railway Park in Chiang Mai. For more information, please visit the Amazing Chiang Mai Green Guide Fest 2026 Facebook page.
