BMA Partners with EEF and Thammasat University to Transform Bangkok into a “Classroom of Life”

Bangkok officially launches “LEARN BKK: Everywhere is a Classroom of Life,” a landmark collaboration between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), and Thammasat University. This initiative aims to dismantle traditional educational barriers and address the growing crisis of children dropping out of the school system, particularly in the post-pandemic era where economic pressures have led many families to prioritize immediate labor over formal schooling.

Officials has reported that half of the identified youth have already successfully tracked and brought back nearly through targeted home visits. To ensure that education remains relevant and valuable to modern families, the partnership is developing flexible, competency-based curricula in coordination with vocational schools. These programs are designed to equip students with real-world career skills, thereby reducing the time and financial burden on parents while guaranteeing a tangible return on their investment in education.

BMA and its partners also plans to establish “Learning Routes” across all 50 districts, effectively turning the city’s unique community and environmental resources into a sprawling urban classroom. The project is expected to build an inclusive educational ecosystem where the city itself becomes a vital tool for social mobility and lifelong discovery.
