Thailand continues to elevate its coffee quality! Recently, the Ministry of Commerce awarded certificates to 20 Thai coffee SMEs nationwide, selected through a project promoting FTA usage to add value to Arabica and Robusta beans. These premium products range from ground coffee and capsules to sparkling coffee. The ministry emphasized that “Thai coffee is of high quality and definitely meets global consumer demands!”
This project goes beyond theory! Entrepreneurs participate in an intensive boot camp covering everything from using FTAs to reduce partner tariffs to zero, AI-driven marketing, and export laws. The top 10 performers will head to China in August 2025 to conduct market research, engage in business matchmaking, and participate in the CAFEEX 2025 exhibition in Guangzhou-Shenzhen!
This is a golden opportunity! The global coffee market grows 8% annually, valued at $433 billion, while China’s market expands at 8.55% per year. Thailand aims to establish a premium coffee identity—high quality and eco-friendly—leveraging ASEAN-China and RCEP FTAs that reduce tariffs on roasted beans to 0-5%. This supports Thailand’s position as the second-largest roasted coffee exporter to China.
Confidently, this project will propel Thai coffee SMEs into leading global export brands, connecting Thai raw materials to global supply chains. The Ministry of Commerce fully supports this initiative, affirming, “Thai coffee is ready to sustainably conquer China and premium markets worldwide!”
