Thailand makes history hosting Its first complete Poker World Tournament, from July 30 to August 5, 2025. Thailand successfully hosted its first full-scale Poker World Tournament, drawing over 300 top players from around the globe and more than 1,000 international spectators.
Poker is now officially recognized as a skill-based sport involving strategy and psychology—not gambling. This event had a positive economic impact on Thailand, with estimated benefits exceeding 1 billion baht through tourism revenue and job creation.
One of the highlights was Thai poker pro Punnat Punsri, former world No. 1 according to the Global Poker Index, showcasing his skills and inspiring Thai youth to take the sport seriously.
This tournament marks a major milestone, positioning Thailand as a key regional poker hub and opening up new economic opportunities for the country.
