Highlights of Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026

Thailand is set to host the Udon Thani International Expo 2026 in the northeastern province of Udon Thani at Nong Dae Wetland from 1 November to 14 March 2027.

Held under the theme “Diversity of Life: Connecting People, Water, and Plants for Sustainable Living,” the expo highlights the close connection between ecosystems and communities. The venue spans over 1,030 rai (approximately 165 hectares), featuring a layout that seamlessly blends natural landscapes, cultural experiences, and agricultural technologies.

Here are some highlights visitors can look forward to:

- Plant Diversity from around the World — Explore international gardens showcasing plant diversity and garden design ideas from more than 20 countries, a collection of remarkable plants, such as olive trees with distinctive trunks and canopies, alongside rotating displays that offer something new throughout the expo.

- Isan Wisdom through Architecture — Discover an exhibition building inspired by the sai, a traditional fish trap that reflects local knowledge and the enduring relationship between people and waterways. A collection of buildings showcasing different styles of Isan architecture also offers insights into the traditional lifestyle and cultural heritage of northeastern Thailand.

- A Variety of Activities and Exhibitions — Experience an array of horticultural attractions, including orchid gardens, cut flowers, potted flowering plants, water lilies and lotuses, planted aquariums, ornamental foliage plants, and themed gardens, among many others. Beyond the gardens, more than 200 art and cultural programs will bring the expo to life through performances and hands-on experiences, including traditional Isan dances and culinary activities featuring locally grown plants.

- The Future of Farming — Explore the future of agriculture through innovative practices and technologies. From indoor farming and the cultivation of high-value crops to agricultural drones and smart farming solutions, the exhibitions demonstrate how innovation can improve agricultural productivity, support farmers, and promote sustainability.
