Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul marked United Nations Day 2026 with a speech on the significance of 24 October. The date is the 81st anniversary of the UN's founding and of the entry into force of its Charter. He stressed that preserving peace and resolving conflicts through peaceful means remain the fundamental pillars of global stability.

Over the decades, international cooperation has built global rules across key areas:
• Human Rights: protecting the rights of children, women and labor
• Law and Resources: the international law of the sea and environmental protection
• Socio-Economic Development: education, culture and sustainable development

These rules may not guarantee total consensus. But they give the world a vital forum to address modern challenges such as geopolitical conflicts, climate change and AI, and they serve as an essential compass through times of crisis.
At the 81st UN General Assembly, Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to national sovereignty, equality and international law. By hosting the IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand is also showing its role as a bridge for global cooperation, supporting both economic growth and international stability.

Looking ahead, Thailand remains committed to working with the UN to build a peaceful, sustainable and better future for all.
