"Digital ID" - A seamless health service system

Thailand's public health and medical system is transitioning to electronic services, ensuring secure operations through Digital Identity or Digital ID. This identification system can record personal information, including national ID numbers, addresses, and even medical histories.

Currently, an identification and verification system called "Mor Prompt DID" is available through the "Mor Prompt" application. It enables staff to verify the identity of service recipients and access their patient histories when receiving treatment at public or private healthcare institutions. With just a single national ID card, and connecting treatment data to the Personal Health Record (PHR) system on the Mor Prompt application, a level of trust, verification, and identity confirmation is established. This system has been reviewed and approved by the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA) and the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA).

Originally, the "Mor Prompt" application was developed as a tool for monitoring adverse reactions after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as reserving a queue for receiving the vaccine. It now features a health data management system for after receiving services from public and private health units. This allows for data exchange or health care analysis, including digital health certificates such as vaccination certificates, COVID-19 test certificates, and other medical certificates.

Another application, "e-Health", employs the Digital ID technology to assist in verifying and confirming the identities of patients and doctors during the treatment process and medication dispensing. It provides a reliable way to ensure that the entire treatment process adheres to set standards. Apart from making medical services safer, it also provides seamless access to health service systems.

The Ministry of Public Health has implemented a policy for all health zones to raise public understanding about the importance of Digital ID, which will provide seamless access to health services. This aligns with the adoption of digital technology in service provision, such as Telemedicine and AI Screening systems, to name a few.
