Thailand continues its innovation for farmers! Recently, the “N-sense” portable, affordable device was launched to instantly detect BY2 residues in durians. It slashes the wait time for results from 48 hours in a lab to just 20 minutes—with an impressive accuracy of 0.56 ppb, capable of detecting BY2 levels well below China’s regulatory limits.

This innovation is the product of Thai researchers and has undergone real-world testing in Wang Chan District, Rayong Province. Local farmers confirm it as an “essential tool” to elevate durian standards and competitiveness internationally.

“N-sense” is at the heart of the “Science for Food Security” policy. Beyond durian, it is set to expand to detect contaminants in other agricultural products, opening doors for Thai farmers to reach sustainable premium markets.
