Thailand is transforming two key industries—textiles and apparel
(exports: $7.4 billion) and furniture (exports: $4.5 billion)—through a “Twin Transition” approach, seamlessly integrating digital innovation and environmental responsibility.
The Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) is collaborating with government, private sector, and academia to develop a roadmap that includes:
✅ Using sustainable materials, such as natural fibers and responsibly sourced wood
✅ Digitizing processes with ERP and AI to reduce costs and boost efficiency
✅ Advancing the circular economy (BCG Model) to cut waste and maximize value throughout the product lifecycle
Three urgent strategies to accelerate progress:
- Tax incentives and financial support for SMEs
- Creating a digital platform to centralize industry data
- Upskilling the workforce to meet new technology and international environmental standards
This transition is about more than survival—it’s about elevating Thailand as a responsible, modern manufacturing leader on the global stage while building a strong foundation for a sustainable green economy.
